Salesforce Unveils Agentforce 360: AI Powers Customer Relations

Salesforce is intensifying its pursuit of the enterprise AI market with the introduction of Agentforce 360, the latest iteration of its AI agent platform. This announcement arrives ahead of Dreamforce, Salesforce's annual customer conference, setting the stage for a deep dive into the platform's capabilities. Agentforce 360 boasts enhanced text-based instruction methods for AI agents, a revamped platform for agent creation and deployment, and deepened integration with Slack.

Smarter Agents Through Advanced Prompting

A key highlight is Agent Script, an AI agent prompting tool launching in beta this November. Agent Script empowers users to fine-tune their AI agents, enabling them to navigate "if/then" scenarios with greater precision. This aims to equip AI agents with the ability to handle customer inquiries and other situations with increased predictability.

Agentforce 360 will also give users access to "reasoning" models. These models analyze data and formulate responses, instead of simply pattern matching. Powering these "reasoning" agents are industry leaders like Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google Gemini.

Streamlined Agent Building and Deployment

The new Agentforce Builder, also slated for beta release in November, promises a unified environment for building, testing, and deploying AI agents. This tool incorporates Agentforce Vibes, an enterprise-grade app vibe coding tool.

Slack Integration and Enterprise Search Ambitions

Salesforce is doubling down on Slack integration, bringing its core apps, like Agentforce Sales, IT, and HR, directly into the Slack interface. This rollout begins this month and will continue through early 2026.

Furthermore, Slack is piloting an enhanced version of its Slackbot chatbot, evolving it into a personalized AI assistant that learns user preferences and offers customized insights.

Looking ahead, Salesforce envisions Slack as a central enterprise search hub, with planned connectors for platforms like Gmail, Outlook, and Dropbox arriving in early 2026.

Competition Heats Up in the Enterprise AI Arena

This update enters the market as the enterprise AI space continues to evolve. Major players are releasing AI-driven features aimed at enterprise clients, even as companies grapple with realizing concrete returns on investment.

Google recently introduced Gemini Enterprise, a package of tools for crafting enterprise-grade AI agents, with early adoption from companies like Figma, Klarna, and Virgin Voyages.

Anthropic is also gaining ground with its Claude Enterprise offering, securing a major deal with Deloitte to deploy its Claude chatbot to Deloitte's extensive workforce. Anthropic also announced a strategic alliance with IBM.

Salesforce emphasizes that Agentforce already has 12,000 customers. Current pilot customers for Agentforce 360 include Lennar, Adecco, and Pearson.

Despite the momentum, a recent study highlighted that a significant percentage of enterprise AI pilots stall before reaching production, underscoring the ongoing challenges companies face in justifying investments in AI technologies.
